The Dell S2418H is a 24″ monitor built with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen that is delivering sharp video and photo footage and offers an ultra wide 178°/178° viewing angle. The monitor has a sleek look and an outrageously over-engineered stand that puts the usual plastic junk to shame.

The Dell S2418H is one of the most attractive monitors in its class, full stop. With razor-thin bezels, a solid aluminum stand, and slick glossy finish, the monitor’s design puts its nearest competitors to shame.

The monitor is propped up by a metal stand that doubles up as a speaker. The speakers aren’t built into the body of the monitor, instead, they come as a stylish looking wedge that nestles in the cut out in the stand. It’s a very good speaker, with performance far beyond what I’d expect from a monitor that hits this price point.

Overall, I think this monitor would be an excellent investment, especially for those who like to watch movies or TV shows online, or gamers. I would even go so far as to say that the sound and image quality is better than my television, which is a few years old now.

The Dell S2418H bears the same InfinityEdge moniker and this means it’s got a beautifully thin bezel that fits neatly in to our modern world. A world where tablets, laptops and mobile phones are all becoming predominately giant screens with little flair or distraction from their content.

The back of the monitor includes a pair of 3.5mm TRS connections, one for audio and one for a microphone, which will serve either speakers or headphones. Inserting headphones or external speakers won’t interrupt the “integrated” speakers, either, so you can use them together, or leave headphones plugged in without any ill effect. The separate 3.5mm microphone connection seems like a throwback in the age of mobile headsets, but will perhaps prove useful for a conference-call style setup with a desktop microphone.
