The Apple Watch Series 3 is not only a brand new member of smartwatch family but probably the best smartwatch money can buy. Almost the same design as its predecessor which brought GPS and swim-tracking into Apple Watch, but with one awesome feature – 4G connectivity. This means, you can use your watch independent from your paired iPhone, and always be connected wherever you will reach the network coverage.

The Apple Watch 3 is best for the fitness enthusiast, that’s for sure. The longer battery life, improved screen and GPS / water-resistant capabilities are all perfect for the person who needs a workout companion, where the original and cheaper Apple Watch lacks in all these areas.

The Apple Watch 3 has been the most well-rounded smartwatch experience I’ve had to date. It’s really something you need to use for a few weeks to really appreciate the convenience it brings. With that said, I’m not entirely certain that LTE is a requirement for absolutely everyone.

Zoom zoom zoom. It’s hard to quantify just how incredible the Series 3’s S3 processor feels because of watchOS 4 improvements that make Series 2 feel — and look — faster on screen. But even if the lack of lag isn’t as dramatically pronounced as it was between Series 0 and 2, it’s still improved.

While the design doesn’t change, Apple has made plenty of changes inside. Powering Apple Watch Series 3 is the S3, Apple’s third-generation dual-core processor. The new upgrade helps app launch times, enables smoother graphics and brings talking Siri to the watch using the built-in speaker. She is as clear as on iPhone.

The Apple Watch 3 is now, more than ever before, a fitness-focused wearable and it has been since the Series 2 update. It continues to do a great job. I’m now more acutely aware of how much – or in some cases, how little – activity and exercise I’m doing. It’s shocking how few hours in the day I stand for a minute or more, for instance.

Where the Gear S3 does impress is in its fitness features. It offers excellent automatic tracking: you only have to walk briskly for a few minutes for the watch to detect the activity and log it. It’ll also quickly catch in if you forget to tell it you’re going for a run. It can even automatically pause its logging for brief stops, such as waiting to cross a road.

I’ve been testing the Apple Watch Series 3 for a week, using it as my phone, fitness tracker, Apple Pay wallet, and iPod. And, yes, I’ve even been making phone calls with it. It lets you stay connected in those few places where even phone addicts may skip the phone: Going for a walk around the block. At the gym. At the pool or the beach. In the bedroom, while you’re trying to fall asleep.

The Apple Watch Series 3 runs on watchOS 4, and with this comes with a revamped version of Siri. There’s now a Siri watch face that shows the “information users need most throughout the day”, and the digital assistant can now respond with audio directly on the watch as well as text.

That said, the Watch’s design is very functional, with its bright, colorful square display making it easy to read text indoors or out, and its two buttons plus a touchscreen make it easy to navigate the interface. The spinning crown is particularly great for scrolling through lists, zooming in on images or maps, or making quick volume adjustments when listening to music.

With the Apple Watch 3 LTE, I get to know as soon as someone is trying to call me. I don’t always take the calls on the watch, fearing colleagues would get the final proof to conclude that I have actually lost it if they seem to talk to my wrist. But it does give me the option to take the call in case it’s something I can’t miss. Or to just rush back to the phone. I also see a lot of WhatsApp messages while on these phone-less trips to the third floor.
